About Pravin
My name is Pravin Sharma, a dedicated advocate for social Justice from an early age.
Hailing from the humble background of Geyzing, Aarigaon in West Sikkim, where my father
works as a farmer and my mother is dedicated to homemaking, my journey unfolds.
Economic challenges and societal issues, such as healthcare disparities, educational
shortcomings, and the alarming rise of youth involvement in substance abuse, have fueled
my commitment to activism.
My journey as an activist commenced in 2016, and in 2018, I actively participated in
organizing protests against the inadequate healthcare conditions in Sikkim's hospitals
under the banner of SPYF.
This activism expanded to advocating for fair taxi prices during the COVID-19 pandemic and
addressing the escalating number of crimes against women in Sikkim.
In 2021, I faced personal repercussions when I was expelled from college for voicing
support for a permanent campus for Sanchaman Limboo Degree College, Aarigaon.
Enduring financial struggles and mental torture for over 2 and a half years, I persevered.
Despite being labeled a 'terrorist,' I never gave up, and today, the sense of pride runs
deep with me, as the Sanchaman College campus in Aarigaon stands as a testament to the
collective efforts of me and my friends.
Continuous voicing concerns throughout this journey, I have come to realize the importance
of not merely vocalizing but actively participating in the systems that govern change.
The decision to run for election is not fueled by personal interest but by the earnest
desire to affect actual societal change.
Numerous problems persist in our society today, requiring someone to challenge the
authorities.
Therefore, I urge you to cast your vote carefully for someone you trust and believe can
make a positive difference.
